Gloria Mei-Kuk Yeung
Po Hong Park
Hong Kong's urban areas provide a setting for many works by local and overseas artists, including Gloria Yeung Mei-kuk's 'Supersized Eyeglasses" at Po Hong Park in Tseung Kwan O and Victor Tai Sheung-shing's 'Key to the City' in Tamar Park, etc.
The "Public Art Scheme" (PAS), first launched in 1999, aims at bringing artistic elements into public space around us. Through open competitions to call for artwork proposals, 22 sets of artwork have been commissioned and installed at various LCSD's venues, namely Hong Kong City Hall, Hong Kong Central Library, Ma On Shan Public Library, Tai Po Central Town Square, Po Hong Park, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Ko Shan Road Park and Yuen Long Theatre, etc. Other than the "PAS", the APO joins hand in hand with other government departments and organizations to promote public art.
